Also in this historic old town (pedestrian zone) you find sumptuous buildings with “Bavarian-facadeas paintings”. Numerous well-known artists and writers visit this area.
Overnight stay in a good Bavarian guest-house or hotel (3* category)

Day 3 Bad Tölz – Bad Feilnbach approx. 65 km / 40 milesmunich_lake_unten1
This tour leads to two magnificent mountain lakes. The gorgeus panoramaview from the shore of the lake Tegernsee ( one of the most famous lakes in Germany) is like in a picture book. Also a nice beach is ideal for swimming. Here you can admire splendid beach beauties.
Over a range of hills you come to the next mountain lake (Schliersee). The bike path leads quietly along the shore. Here you can also swim in the clear water and thereby enjoying the view of the mountain panorama. Through a wide Bavarian alpine-farmland you come to Bad Feilnbach. Nearing your destination, the longest descent (7 km / 4,5 mi) of the trip is waiting for you. The spa Bad Feilnbach is renowned for its moor baths.
Overnight stay in a good Bavarian guest-house or hotel (3* category)

Day 4 Bad Feilnbach – Lake Chiemsee approx. 45 km / 28 miles
After the start you ride through a wide, flat moorland-area to the Inn-River.
First highlight: The village Neubeuern, with its historical center. Often it serves as a backdrop for TV movies.
In a small family-bakery you can still buy real homemade breads or cakes – without chemical additives.
Quiet roads and great bike paths lead you directly back to the alps. After a long descent, you reach Bavaria's largest lake Chiemsee.german_panorama_castle
Next highlight: After this short trip you take a boat trip to the island of Herrenchiemsee. On the island you visit the mighty king-castle, the Castle Museum and the old monastery. The view from the monastery of the other islands and the lake is really impressive.

Look forward to another day on a beautiful course. The Bavarian Alps are passing like a pearl necklace on you.

The culinary highlight: An excellent cake at the legendary Café Oswald, directly on the historic marketplace. In this patisserie all products are homemade to their own recipes – of course without chemical preservatives.
The tour continues again (up and down) on small, quiet roads and cycle paths.
The last 15 km / 10 mi are pleasantly flat and the high mountains come closer and closer.
Your overnight stop Bad Reichenhall, has still one of the largest salt mines in Europe.
Overnight stay in a good Bavarian bed and breakfast or hotel (3* category)

Day 6 Bad Reichenhall – National Park Königssee, approx. 30 km / 19 milesgerman_panorama_classic
This daytrip is deliberately kept short. On the one hand you have to climb two steep ascents, on the other a wonderful boat tour in the National Park Königssee is waiting for you. The two “climbs” are not very long, but cost slightly energy. The mountains around you come closer and are getting higher and higher.
In the small town of Berchtesgaden you have a fantastic "postcard-view" of Bavaria's most beautiful mountain Watzmann (2713 m / 8900 ft).
In your accommodation you will get the tickets for the boat trip.
The tour on the Königssee is really beautiful. Like a fjord is the lake between skyscraping rock walls.
A highlight is the trumpet solo by the captain and the echo from the rock walls.
At the end of the lake you can make a nice walk to a small mountain pasture. Here the Alpine idyll is just perfect.
Overnight stay in a good Bavarian guest-house or hotel (3* category)

Day 7 Nationalpark Königssee – Salzburg approx. 35 km / 22 miles
After this great landscape experiences you ride the last leg of your journey. Through a narrow valley roll your bike in the direction to the City of Salzburg. The last kilometers you ride on a very good bike path along the river Salzach. Around noon you refer your hotel near the historic Old Town.guidedtext_5
At 14.00 clock you take part in a guided tour of the historic Old Town. Duration about 90 Minutes.
Salzburg offers so many attractions, you're still going after the guiding with enthusiasm through the narrow lanes or castle complexes.
Overnight stay in a good Austrian hotel (3* category)

Day 8 Salzburg – Munich by train
After a very good breakfast you ride to the nearby railway station. With a modern train you ride without having to change back to Munich. The entrainment of your bicycle on the train is not a problem. Through the train windows you can see a part of your journey again. The journey takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes.
